There are many ways God calls us to do His good works. For He has entrusted us with our individual talents to help build up His Kingdom. Sharing our talents through the many ministries here at Immaculate Conception is one way we can each grow in a life of Stewardship.

Arts and EnvironmentList Item 1
This group enhances the prayerful environment of the church by providing appropriate décor, banners, flowers, and visual props for the celebration of Mass and the liturgical seasons. Assistance in assembling materials and decorating for special seasons is welcome.

Baptism MinistryList Item 2
A member of this ministry assists the presider during the Baptism by working with the sacristan to assure that all materials are in place. They also guide the parents and Godparents through the ceremony.

Baptism Blanket MinistryList Item 3
Provides infants with blankets when they are baptized here at Immaculate Conception and all of our family parishes. If you like to knit, join this active group which meets monthly and works independently, providing a beautiful gift for baptism!

Extraordinary Ministers of Holy CommunionList Item 4
Help during Mass, distribute the bread and wine. Join our team supporting the Mass with this personal gift of the bread and body to each person at Mass. It is an honor to serve each other! Training provided. 16 years or older, already confirmed, and in good standing with the parish and Catholic Church.

Faith Formation
Join our team of Catechists which teach the Catholic faith to our youth! Classes are after the 9 am Mass on Sundays. Also included are confirmation and first communion/first reconciliation prep. Classes run September through May.

Grounds Maintenance
Help keep our grounds of the church and office looking good! We need people to assist during certain seasons of the year to weed, garden, take care of the grass, and keep the parking lots in shape. If you would like to help serve God’s house by keeping up the “yard,” please sign up!

Funeral Ministry
Assist grieving families in the planning of the funeral Mass or memorial service. Support to personalize the liturgy and assist family members throughout the services, as well as coordination with the funeral director. Parishioner volunteers are often needed to serve as lectors, Eucharistic Ministers, ushers, musicians, sacristans, greeters, and parking lot attendants. Funeral pre-planning is also available by appointment.

Homebound Ministry
Eucharistic Ministers, specially commissioned by the Pastor, bring Communion and prayer to parishioners at hospitals, care centers, and the home-bound in Skagit County. Volunteers may work in pairs or alone. Training is provided. (To initiate visitation, patients or families must first request this service through the facility’s administration office before contacting the parish office or minister.)

Hospitality Ministry
This ministry provides hospitality by assisting with social events, providing refreshments at certain times of the year, and for funerals when necessary. This includes when we have gatherings of clergy, special days for the parish, and after-Mass receptions.

Knights of Columbus
Knights of Columbus is a worldwide Catholic men’s fraternal service organization that exists to serve our pastor, our parish and our community. If you want to be a part of a group of men who lead, serve, protect and defend, whether we are giving out free winter coats for kids, supporting our local pregnancy center or helping our local Tri-Parish Food Bank, among many other programs, we have a place for you. All Catholic men 18 and above are welcome to join.

Lectors
Do you have a gift of sharing the word with others? It takes a special talent to proclaim the Word! Our Lectors are efficiently organized with schedules and training is available. Must be 16 years or older, who have been confirmed.

Music Ministry
Music ministers lead the congregation in song during the Liturgy. This ministry includes cantors, psalmists, choirs, instrumentalists and guitarists, and accompanists on piano and organ. Music Ministers prepare through individual and/or group rehearsals, and all older teens and adults are welcome to participate.

Salesians
St Francis de Sales Association is an international organization of Catholic lay women who come together to support one another. We share, study, and pray in the Spirit of Jesus through the Spirituality of St Francis de Sales. Consecrated members, women in formation, and women interested in learning more meet monthly at Kitty Pederson’s home in Mount Vernon, WA. We are currently meeting on ZOOM.

Sacristan Ministry
The sacristan prepares the sacred vessels, vestments, and altar for Mass. Responsibilities also include opening and securing the church building and worship space.

Ushers and Greeters
We are looking for Ushers to join this important ministry. Duties include assisting parishioners with finding seats, taking up the collection, assisting parishioners during Communion, and being available during Mass for emergencies. All adults, men and women, and older teens are welcome.

Tri-Parish Food Bank
Each week many volunteers serve In a variety of ways to ensure that nutritious food is available to anyone who needs it. Distribution hours are on Saturdays from 10am – 2pm. Prep times during the week before distribution are in need for Thursday thru Saturday. Come help!

Wedding Coordinator
Assist couples in preparation of their wedding, consult and guide the bride and groom on the wedding day with the celebrating priest.

Youth Altar Serving
If you have received the sacrament of first communion, you are welcome to join in helping our priests at Mass! Training and scheduling provided.

Young Adult Bible Study
All Valley Weekly Young Adult Bible Study
Ages 18-30 using the full FOCUS Equip Bible Study materials—covered in chronological order. Come grow in faith and fellowship with us every Friday from 7:00–8:30 PM at Immaculate Conception Parish Office (Upstairs at the Church on the last Fridays of the month). Led by Lukas Mihm.

Marriage Ministry
Be part of our new ministry dedicated to supporting couples—whether newly married or together for many years. Throughout the year, we host events designed to strengthen and enrich the marriage journey. There are many different ways to volunteer and get involved, so you can find the role that fits you best.
